A Wedding Weekend in Provence at Château Martinay

Slow Mornings and Southern Light

Provence has a way of slowing everything down - in the best way.

David and I took the train from Paris to the South of France a few days before the wedding. No big plans. Just the two of us, wandering through little towns, documenting our days on 35mm film, and easing into a pace that felt... softer. I didn’t realize it at the time, but those quiet days completely shifted how I approached the wedding. I felt more present, more connected - and honestly, more inspired.

Arriving at Château Martinay

By the time we arrived at Château Martinay, tucked in the quiet countryside near Carpentras, everything felt softer. The air was warm and still. The château - an 18th-century estate wrapped in history and cypress trees - felt like it had been waiting for this kind of love story. It wasn’t just beautiful. It was grounding. Calm. It invited you to breathe deeper and move slower.

Refined Romance in the South of France

This wedding carried that same energy. It was intentional and deeply personal - no over-the-top moments, just beauty in all the right places. She wore a sculptural silk gown by @luce_sposa, with a square neckline, gathered full skirt, and a stunning oversized bow at the back.

Paired with long satin gloves, a double strand of pearls, and timeless Jimmy Choos, she was the picture of refined romance - modern, but never loud. The florals by @botaniacaevent mirrored the setting: loose, natural, and quietly luxurious, like they’d been gathered that morning from the château’s own garden.

A Celebration Meant to Be Felt

They said their vows under the trees. We drank champagne in the garden. Dinner stretched long into the evening with candlelight, linen, and laughter drifting through the warm air.

For the Bride Drawn to Feeling

There’s a certain kind of bride who will get this.

She’s not interested in trends. She’s drawn to feeling - how a place moves her, how the light hits the terrace at golden hour, how a wedding can feel more like a love letter than a production. She wants to remember not just how it looked, but how it felt.

And if that’s you - if you’re dreaming of something soulful and intentional, something beautiful in its simplicity - Château Martinay might be the place where it all begins.
